Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Draw Party uses to run a game and how the current browser-based service works.

PLAY DRAW PARTY

Last updated: August 2026

Information you choose to provide

Draw Party does not currently require user accounts. When joining a room, a player provides a nickname. A player may also choose to take a selfie avatar, or skip the selfie and use their nickname initial instead.

Camera access is requested only when a player chooses the selfie option. The camera preview is used to take the selected image; Draw Party does not require ongoing camera access during the game.

Selfie avatars

Optional selfie avatars are uploaded to private backend storage and associated with the relevant player and room. The game provides temporary signed image links so connected players can see the avatar during that game experience.

Selfie avatars are available through the game for no longer than 24 hours after upload. Signed display links are capped at that same expiry time.

Once an avatar is 24 hours old and its game is finished or abandoned, it becomes eligible for permanent deletion. A secured cleanup job runs daily and removes eligible files through the storage service, then clears their game-database references. Active games are excluded from file deletion.

Game and session information

To operate a room, Draw Party may process room codes, nicknames, game settings, selected categories and difficulty, word and round state, drawings, scores, connection status, and temporary room/player/session identifiers.

Finished rooms and rooms with no activity for 24 hours become eligible for scheduled deletion. Deleting a room also deletes its room-scoped players, rounds, drawings, awards, guesses and temporary word-choice state. The secured cleanup job currently runs once per day, so deletion follows the next successful scheduled run.

Basic technical information may also be processed where needed for security, reliability, troubleshooting, service performance or abuse prevention.

Service providers

Supabase provides backend database and storage functionality used by the game. Vercel hosts and delivers the Draw Party website and application and provides Web Analytics. Resend delivers messages submitted through the Contact form. Google Fonts provides the site's web fonts and may receive standard request information when those font files load. These providers may process the information needed to provide their respective services.

Browser storage, analytics and advertising

Draw Party uses privacy-conscious Vercel Web Analytics to understand broad website usage and game milestones, such as pages visited, rooms created, group size, selected game settings and whether a game was completed. Analytics events do not include player nicknames, selfie images, room codes, drawing words, drawing data, contact-form contents or game-access tokens.

Vercel Web Analytics is configured without Draw Party creating advertising cookies, fingerprinting visitors or building persistent player profiles. The game also uses browser storage for practical session information, such as reconnecting a player or recognising the Game Screen for a room.

Contact-form success and failure may be counted as generic analytics events, but the visitor's name, email address, subject and message are not included in those analytics events.

If analytics, advertising, payments or other features are introduced later, this policy may be updated to explain any additional cookies, identifiers or information involved.

Choices and questions

Players can skip the selfie feature. Browser camera permission can also be managed through browser or device settings. For privacy questions, please use the Draw Party Contact page.

Policy updates

This policy may change as Draw Party develops. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
